Baptist Men

_ A group of our men have partnered with the Jackson County Department On Aging in building wheelchair ramps to aid the elderly in our community. Our men also partner with Jackson Neighbors in Need of Mountain Projects to assist their services in offering adequate warm shelter during the winter months including weatherization of homes, cold-winter shelter, and funding to help with heating and shelter needs. These men also joined other churches in building the addition to the United Christian Ministries building located on Skyland Drive in Syvla.
Our Baptist Men lead our congregation in worship annually (usually the last Sunday in January) with an emphasis for a Baptist Men Sunday. The day consists of a welcoming breakfast at 8:00am with a simple program. The men gather during the Sunday School hour for the Baptist Men Choir to practice and prepare for sharing in music during the morning worship service. The Baptist Men Choir leads the congregation in their singing and offers special music throughout the service. Typically, several men also offer a time of testimony sharing how God has been working in their life and using them to do ministry in Jackson County and beyond.
Our men have also been on several mission trips both nationally and internationally. In the past, they have been to Biloxi, Mississippi and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. Our men have partnered with the Together for Hope poverty initiative of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship by working in Booneville, Kentucky. Our men also traveled to the Village of Hope in Bucha, Ukraine outside Kiev for three consecutive years partnering with the ministry of Gennady and Mina Podgaisky, CBF Field Personnel.
